Diagnosed in 2023, Berenice embraced Audre Lorde’s wisdom to “eat pain but shit alchemy,” resulting in her creation of a poignant poetry and art process book titled Treacherous Titties in 2024. This book captures raw poems and images that illustrate Berenice’s personal odyssey—a testament to her body’s battle against cancer and her courageous decision to undergo a double mastectomy.

Joining us is Dinah Poellnitz, Co-founder & Director of Development at Hill Street Country Club, where an upcoming exhibition will showcase Treacherous Titties. This exhibit not only features Berenice’s transformative art but also highlights works from an art therapy group comprising other breast cancer survivors.
